Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) and Lowcounty Regional Transportation Authority (LRTA) hired RLS & Associates, Inc. to provide a coordinated public transportation expansion plan.

Just last week RLS had a kick-off meeting to discuss the needs and gaps in service in the LRTA service area (Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper counties in South Carolina). LRTA, operating as Palmetto Breeze, and LowCountry Council of Governments would like to improve the network of services to effectively address unmet mobility in the service area.

Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority has hired RLS & Associates, Inc. to update their Coordinated Public Transit-Human Service Transportation Plan from 2008.  

The planning process involves comprehensive outreach efforts for all organizations in the Toledo area that serve individuals with disabilities, people with low incomes, older adults, and the general public.  Focus group sessions and public meetings will be conducted at various times and locations convenient for the stakeholders.  Following the updated needs assessment and gaps analysis, the study team will develop realistic coordinated transportation strategies for the area.  The goal of the effort is to assist the local stakeholders in their efforts to move beyond planning and to facilitate new actions toward implementation of goals and strategies.  Specific coordinated strategies to be explored involve paratransit and commuter services.
